Exposure to iPhone 15 Pro Max exclusive periscope telephoto: production capacity lower than expected
Fast Technology News on August 3, according to reports, the iPhone 15 Pro Max has an exclusive periscope telephoto lens that supports up to 6x optical zoom. Compared with the 3x optical zoom of the iPhone 14 Pro Max, the zoom capability of the former has been greatly improved.
It is worth noting that the periscope lens used in the iPhone 15 Pro Max is supplied by Sony and LG Innotek, and the two suppliers will also provide the periscope lens actuation sensor. However, production was lower than expected due to problems in the manufacturing process of the actuation sensor.
As we all know, optical zoom is accomplished by adjusting the focal length of the lens. Even if the image is zoomed in when shooting, the captured image will remain clear without degradation of image quality. When increasing the optical zoom magnification, the length of the lens module increases, thus affecting the usable space inside the smartphone.
This time Apple uses a periscope telephoto lens, which not only increases the focal length, enabling a wide range of optical zoom, but also does not significantly increase the size of the camera module and lens.
